Julia Weber House

Moving Day 1901
After many years of trying, the Society & Museum, with the help of numerous donors, finally moved Julia Weber's house to the museum grounds on June 30, 2001. Hundreds of donors, volunteers and staff hours and over $220,000 were raised to move and restore the exterior. The period between September and the end of December saw the replacement of the roof, a new foundation, reconstructed veranda and many repairs to siding and moldings. Julia's House is being restored to its 1892-1901 appearance and will include exhibits that represent several periods of occupation by the descendant Weber families.  It will be an adaptive restoration and will become the museum's new "front door" as improvements are made according to the new Micke Grove and Museum Master Plans. Donations of cash, materials and services are still needed to complete the last of Phase I and begin Phase II.
